Explore confident mark-making and creating illusions using classical and modern techniques. Develop your observational skills and technical mastery to render with dynamic depth and remarkable details to capture the beautiful spirit of trees. Benefit from upbeat demonstrations, critiques and personal guidance for ultimate self expression. 

Main mediums: Charcoal, Soft Pastels or Watercolor and pen. Please note: Bring your own materials!

What you can expect: 

• Understanding of various drawing materials and good mixed media combinations that will inform you of tools to pack on travel adventures.

• Eye-hand coordination, expressive mark-making for textures, value for shading, atmospheric perspective and relative proportion. 

• Tips for referencing photos and observing fundamental anatomy of trees.

• Study #1 - value and line quality - charcoal

• Study #2 - atmospheric perspective - charcoal

• Study #3 - Canopy study in colour, texture and perspective - watercolour + ink or charcoal, or soft pastels + charcoal.
